Happy Bump Day! (25 weeks)

Happy Hump Bump Day!

My life has been a whirlwind since my last update THREE weeks ago!  We are finally all moved into our new/first home.  By “all moved in” I mean that everything we own is under one roof – but we still have a long way to go before we are completely settled.   Thankfully, I have about 3 1/2 or so months until Pumpkin makes his/her arrival, so plenty of time to take it slow and get it all done.

The 22 week fetal anatomy appointment went great!  Pumpkin is healthy and on track for size.  The technician was able to get a TON of awesome pictures of Pumpkin – he/she was super cooperative during the ultrasound (much more than my son EVER was during these!).

Running – I’ve really enjoyed running the last few weeks.  I cut back on the number of days/frequency of runs last week (didn’t really run at all!!) because I was so busy with packing, cleaning, and moving.  It felt good to rest my body for an extended period of time.  My pace has definitely slowed down a bit – Most of my runs are now between 8:40-8:50 pace and if I try to get to anything below 8:15 or so, I feel exhausted and out of breath almost immediately. The pace really doesn’t bother me – I don’t wear my Garmin because I don’t want to dwell on the slower pace – I’m more focused on total time/distance running these days.   I’m scheduled to run the NYRR Mini 10k this weekend in Central Park.  I’m psyched to be running again in the Park and even more, am excited for the post-race brunch with some of my favorite NYC bloggers!!

Post 7 mile run @ 23 weeks

Belly – Well there is no denying anymore that I am pregnant!  I am glad to finally look pregnant and not just that I ate a big lunch =)  My belly looks almost twice as big in the evenings as it does in the mornings.  I don’t remember it being this drastic with my son!  Did this happen to anyone else?

Clothes - I mostly am wearing maternity shirts and pants/shorts these days.  I could get away with a good number of pre-pregnancy clothes still but am  much more comfortable in the maternity clothes.  I am still wearing my own running clothes – I haven’t had to go up a size in shirts yet (just in the shorts!) although there are a number of shirts that are too short/tight for me to wear already.

Movement - Pumpkin is moving A TON lately – he/she has actually kept me up at night several times because of all the movement.  It doesn’t hurt but the constant kicking is too much of a distraction for me to fall asleep!  But I can’t think of a better way to fall asleep than with a hand on my belly feeling him/her moving!

Appetite / Weight Gain – I think Pumpkin went through a growth spurt this past week because I have been STARVING.  There were many days when I just felt hungry all day – despite eating constantly.   At my last appointment (3 weeks ago), I had gained 11 pounds which is slightly less than I had gained by this point with my son.  I think the biggest reason for having less weight gain is that I am much more active this time around – I get very few opportunities to rest and put my feet up with a 17 month old little boy!

Hope you all have a great HUMP day!! =)

    1. It is REALLY awesome that you have these up here for people to refer back to. You mentioned here that you felt like your belly was bigger in the evenings, and over the past week or so, I have felt the same exact way. I have been wondering if that is normal!

You look amazing and I’m still betting there are those who don’t realize you are pregnant! So glad everything is going well and that you got some good views at the ultrasound. So much fun.

Good luck with all the unpacking–such a big job!

You look awesome! I totally remember the belly being bigger at the end of the day. Some days I would go to work comfortable in an outfit, but by the end of the day, it would no longer fit.

    10. Yes! My belly has done that EVERY TIME and it is so annoying!! It makes running any time other than first thing more and more difficult as that doubled tummy just keeps being so big!! I love the feeling of being smaller again each morning when I get up, though :)

      • Hahaha…isn’t that the best feeling? I really didn’t notice it too much with my son but even my family has commented that I look HUGE by the end of the night =)

    11. Awww who are you brunching with? Let’s touch base on details as I would LOVE to see you on Saturday and I’m racing as well, although significantly slower. :)

Aw, Michelle, you are so stinkin cute! :) Yes- my belly did the same thing, almost doubling in size by the evening! And I remember being relieved to reach that stage where it was finally obvious. So glad you’re all moved in, the worst is over! Hope you continue to get settled and organized quickly.
