Thera-Gesic Review + Giveaway

I rolled my ankle a few weeks ago during one of my AM runs as I discussed briefly here.  My ankle was slightly swollen but I had no pain walking the next day, so it seemed to be more of a light roll then a sprain – or something worse. But there was still a bit of pain when I rotated my ankle. Not shooting pain – just more along the lines of a general soreness.

It was strangely fortuitous that I was recently sent Thera-Gesic, a topical cream used to treat minor aches and pains of the muscles/joints . Over the course of the next few days, I used the cream a few times a day to help relieve the pain. It worked and I was able to continue with my training (I only had to skip one training day) including an 18 miler that weekend.

Within seconds of of applying the cream, I found relief. And, it wasn’t greasy or messy like some other products are – it is absorbed immediately and leaves no residue behind (think BenGay or Icy Hot).

there gesic

Thera-Gesic is produced by Mission Pharmacal, a family-owned Texas-based pharmaceutical company. It has been used to relieve sore muscles, joint pain, backaches and muscle strain from exercise.

It is a water-based creme that allows the two active ingredients, menthol and methyl salicylate, to penetrate the skin and begin to work in seconds. You can control the amount of heat and relief you need by how many layers you put on. One thin layer provides a mild effect, two thin layers provides a strong effect, and three thin layers provides a very strong effect.

    1. Undeniably believe that which you said. Your favorite reason appeared to be on the web the easiest thing to be aware of.

I say to you, I definitely get annoyed while people think about worries that they plainly don’t know about.

You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as defined out the whole thing without having side-effects
, people could take a signal. Will likely be back to get more.

    3. While I obviously have come to love running (why else would I follow a running blog), my favorite exercise is actually cardio kickboxing (CKO kickboxing). After just a few months of CKO 5–6 days a week, I dropped 4 minutes off my 5K time! CKO is 60 mins of non-stop cardio- running, jumping, kicking, punching, abs, etc. Because of the endurance I built up there, I had the confidence to give running alone more of a chance and found that I enjoy that, too. Wish I knew about the thera-gesic sooner- it sounds great!

    4. I love running, walking, swimming,Hot Barre, strength and trying things I wasn’t coordinated enough to do before!

    5. I actually love HIIT! I enlisted in the Army in 2012 and while the standard PRT exercises in boot camp were really repetitive, my Sgts in AIT were awesome about making up great workouts that incorporated Cross Fit moves and HIIT. One of them was obsessed with the song “Titanium” and he took out this oldschool boombox one eeeearly morning and BLASTED it while we were rotating through stations of burpees, push-ups, weighted situps, sprints, flutterkicks, etc.

And naturally I love to run! Was training for MCM this year but was sidelined due to ITBS :( Another great reason to have Thera-gesic on hand!

    6. Running is my favorite exercise!! Miles and miles away from any other exercise known to women.

    12. It’s always been weightlifting for me, but I just ran my first half marathon and really enjoyed it. I may give running more of a shot!

    13. I’m obsessed with the stair climber lately. Most days I feel like I’m going to die on it, but SO good!

    14. My #1 favorite kind of exercise is actually backpacking (we live about 1 hour away from the Smokey Mountains) but since I can’t go backpacking every day, running is a close #2! :)
