Another quite popular marathon known to the entire world is the Staten Island Half Marathon. This marathon takes place in Staten Island in New York, and the entire race takes over the Verrazzano-Narrows bridge all the way to New York Harbor.
This marathon basically happens on a long hill, which is why it is a comfortable run to keep a good pace throughout it. While it is not entirely uphill, the race takes place on a long hill, and therefore people need to be prepared to go through these long distances.
Distance
While it is not nearly as long as the Boston Marathon, this race has a distance of 13.1 miles, given that it is considered a half marathon. It is a road race and therefore the distance can be quite long, however this is a great marathon to prepare you for bigger ones.
How Many Participants Are Allowed
The Staten Island Half marathon allows over 9,975 runners over all, that are divided into 60% men and 40% women. It is one of the greatest and most popular races in all America because of all the participants that are allowed to compete here.
This year the marathon was canceled due to COVID related issues given that it wasn’t safe for people to get together under one competition, given that the number of participants that are allowed in this race is too many.
How Organized Is This Race?
One of the main concerns with having so many people participate in one race understands how organized this event is. This race is truly organized, there is a place for everyone here, lots of bathrooms to use, a bag check for the competitors, and even a lot of great music to set the mood.
